Depends on your goals.
Pirates chest event is a great way to get items for other upgrade events.
Some just see the unique skins as the event and its the LOOT.
While they patched it down a bit in recent months they patched it back up again after My video of their “over corrections”If skins is your goal the 90 key spin gives the most points.
If Loot for upgrades to upgrade to get more loot is your goal a big spend on 900 key rolls can load your bags up for many events overall lowering your cost to build a castle.
I personally set aside a budge for the pirates event as it Lowers my cost to do upgrades for testing and should be seen as lower cost to play as well.The RR links will always take you to CURRENT upload or the CURRENT Live event so good book marks.

Wasn’t aware it that was the case with 90key spins and points, Originally I was looking towards the Gold, Skin, Speedups, Etc rank rewards now just staying in top 20 for rewards. You ever save none expiring keys in inventory for a later pirate chest? Might not need upgrades then and maybe new R rank comes out and can use keys then.
