I am a C33 that has had pretty good success at burning higher level castles. I owe most of the success to the tips that I have gotten here at this site, including the videos. I find my self stuck sometimes trying to hit castles that have a lot of troops in them. 1.5+ million type castles. It can take a lot of hits to burn one of those. I am also hitting C36 and such with large T11 troops and better stats, and they are a problem.

I have been thinking lately about bringing along a second castle with me when I participate in aVa events. I would use this castle to increase my march capacity during a Mega Rally. I would use the Spinebreaker calculator to find the best formation at the higher March Capacity level. Then I would spread out the total formation between the two castles. The weaker castle was providing, the lower level troops while the main one does the higher troop levels. Sort of like a Master/Blaster attack. Doing this would increase my March Capacity anywhere from 100 to 200K in troops, which should allow me to be able to burn those sorts of castles better. It would also give me an added benefit spreading out my healing costs between the two castles.

So my question is, when using a Mega Rally, are all the troops added together as one big number or separated out by Castles? Basically, would GOG treat it as one castle attack of 300K troops or two attacks of one 200K Castle and one 100K castle? I suspect that it is the latter, which makes the idea stupid.

Does anyone have any thoughts on how this would work out?

Mega Rally’s are very tricky. Whoever activates a Mega Rally only gives their Top 3, Infantry, Calvary, Distance and Artillery stats to each player. The remaining stats (all damage stats) are all still individually based. So if you take a weak castle as a second, it will not help anywhere near as much in a mega rally as if you were mega rallying with a castle of similar damage stats to your own. That is why it is incredibly important that all players participating in a mega rally active all damage boosts and use the life preserver talent because those stats are not inherited by the rally leader.

To answer your question above as to rather GOG would treat it as one castle attacking or two attacks. Its more the first. It is treated as one attack because it is all done in one hit but the results are all based upon who participates in the mega rally. adding a bunch of weak castles to a mega rally just for the extra troop count is a very bad idea and an easy way to lose way more troops than you probably expected.

          Hope this helps
