Every new player starts with little to no gold and finds out pretty quickly how much they need the gold to do basic tasks, even part of the dailies. Alliance leaders often field the question “how can I get more gold” from new players.
When you start a new account and work through the events, you are virtually guaranteed to obtain free purple attack gear and at least one piece of the orange farm gear. Look through the Achievements area (Avatar > Achievements) and there is gold that is given away by the game for creating Purple and Orange gear pieces.
With a new account, once the Forge is created I take a piece of purple attack gear and demolish it. I usually have a full set of near a full set, so early on it does not matter very much for my stats attacking the low level mobs. When you demolish the gear, the game returns the ingots and rss to you even though you received it originally for free.
I go right back to the Forge and build. It doesn’t take long for them to build up and since you do not have anything else to do with the Forge right away it’s a great way to use it to get yourself some free gold from the Achievements area. Do that 6 times and you receive over 1,000 gold. You don’t need to craft a different gear piece each time. It still recognizes that you’ve crafted six pieces if you end up building six rings with this method.
You can do the same thing with the orange gear, but that gear takes a lot longer to complete. On a brand new account, it takes over a day for a piece of orange gear to craft. I recommend waiting to do this until you can afford to do it and aren’t crafting any Duelist or other attack gear to boost your stats.
Older accounts can also do this trick if it’s still an Achievement you have not completed. I hope this helps. It’s a great trick when you need some quick easy gold.
